Our Cause

In the past years since the founder of Tivavake was compelled to venture into social services through supporting her fellow under privileged, rural school children and youths. Together with the help of other volunteer former rural school students who have progressed in life professionally and academically, we have managed to  play a notable  role in transforming the lives of school children and a few out of school youths in choosing career paths, providing them with encouragement, as well as life skills. It is also the founder’s desire to also reach out to more out of school youths who are unproductive, and unsupervised with too much time to get into trouble to one providing these youth with a valuable structured program. Also, expanding the social service program to other rural young people in rural areas around Zimbabwe. Tivavake is aimed at using the life skills, and business methods to “empower out of school young people and school children with  life skills programs  that boost self-confidence, gives career guidelines, imparts positive values,  and gives guidelines on how youths can engage themselves in economic projects that will help them in making their lives better.

Over the past years very few school children from the rural areas are making it to the tertiary institutions, this has been mainly contributed by lack of proper career guidance, motivation and encouragement that it is possible for them to reach greater heights even if one comes poor community. Also, other youths who had huge potential to make it in end up failing due to lack of life skills. Many of the school children and youths lack exposure and that result in them making wrong decisions concerning their lives socially and academically. The problems of drug abuse, and violent crimes has been stepping up greatly in the rural community because most school children after leaving school and they do not know what do to next with their lives, hence end up engaging in socially undesirable acts.

Rural areas are now being identified; with significantly higher than average incidences of crime, truancy, teen pregnancy and child marriages, drug use, and suffer from a lack of constructive activities. Tivavake youth development trust is dedicated to mentor school children from the rural areas. To provide a safe haven for rural areas school children and out of school youths, a program patterned following a unique process where testimonials are made by volunteers who came from where the school children are, this will help them have much more in themselves. Also life skills clinics are done and also career guidance. In the past years since the inception of the idea, the program has gained a positive reputation for providing constructive activities that contribute increasing academic performance, and providing life skills to ensure success in school, in the community and in life.
